About the project
After the death of my grandfather and an injury sustained by my grandmother, their daughter, Ann, has taken on the solemn task of cleaning out and rearranging the family home. Living at the house, my mother spends her days throwing out and compartmentalizing the pieces of our family’s history.
“My Family’s Natural History” received the Michel du Cille / Nikon Award, given to a student who displays a sense of compassion and connects on a personal level to their subject in honor of three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Michel du Cille and his dedication to powerful storytelling.
