Ann Tiffany became an activist in 1984 after the Nicaraguan revolution. Three decades later, as she strives to care for the world around her, her family and friends, and her community, Ann’s determination and passion for social justice remains a core part of her life.

When not out protesting, Ed and Ann spend their time preparing for the next demonstration. They each have a set of tasks that they carry out like organizing meetings and making new signs.
Before committing herself to a life of activism, Ann was a community mental health nurse. Ann describes how she loves working with people and does what she can to help those around her who need it most.
Ann and Ed have lived in their house on the South Side of Syracuse for over 20 years. The house is actually an old farmhouse that they converted into their home.
Ann and Ed first met in the basement of St. Andrews Catholic Church during a meeting about nonviolence in Nicaragua. Ann admits that would get up every morning tead Ed's letters to the newspaper about apartheid and fell in love with his writing. She knew she had to meet him.
Along the wall in their living room lies a collection of hundreds of Ed and Ann's favorite books. Never owning a cell phone, they spend a lot of time reading and educating themselves about different social issues they are passionate about.
