The Gift and The Giver

 After reading an article about poverty in the Syracuse City School District, Reggie Kelly was dismayed to learn that 8 percent of students at Danforth Middle School were homeless. Reggie, who attended the school as a child, believed this was no coincidence and that God was calling on him to help. Reggie posted on Facebook that he wanted to bring people together to help those students and was elated by the positive response from friends and family. Inspired, Reggie founded Rise Above Poverty, a donation-based organization that collects supplies and goods for children in need.
