At 16, Lydia gave birth to her daughter and dropped out of high school. Now 21, she’s in her second year of college working toward a career as a crime scene photographer. She’s surrounded by violence and danger living on Syracuse’s near Westside, and photography has become her escape, her sense of control and her freedom.
