I Am Art

Produced by: Kenneth Rodriguez Santiago
Coaches: Beth FlynnChris Janjic

Jaleel Campbell doesn’t draw or paint his pieces. Instead, he uses Adobe Illustrator to create striking graphic artwork that conveys a deeper meaning than first appears. His latest series of prints, inspired by 70s black culture and the civil rights movement, showcases the beauty and glamour of black life while articulating the message behind Black Lives Matter. Jaleel’s commitment to his art and his cause is gaining attention, and his work is currently on display at the Everson Art Museum.
